On entering there is a large reception area and a large foyer with lots of seating areas that lead on to an enclosed courtyard garden with a fountain and outdoor seating. There is a glass conservatory in the main foyer which offers natural light and is beautiful on a sunny day/evening. The Director of Nursing office is located in the main foyer, which is accessible to all residents and family members.
To the right of the main reception there is a sitting room with a library and cinema theatre. On the left of the main foyer as you walk down the mall area there is the hairdressing salon on your right and the oratory on your left. There are two toilets, one of which is wheelchair accessible.
There is an activities area with a grand piano and at the end of the mall is the main dining room with a further two toilets, one of which is wheelchair accessible.
To the front of TLC Maynooth there is a fully function grass Bowling Green with a Gazebo and a wheelchair accessible walk way around the front garden.
There are 32 beds in the courtyard.
1 double and 30 single en suite rooms, all fitted with flat screen televisions, telephones, call bell systems and electric beds as standard features.
There are 2 sluice rooms, a clinical room, a physiotherapist/treatment room and a hydrotherapy room.
The residents can make full use of the many seating areas around the main foyer and mall area as well as the library and cinema room.
Oak House has 12 beds, 2 Double en suite rooms and 8 single en suite rooms, all fitted with flat screen televisions, telephones, call bell systems and electric beds as standard features. This unit has been specially designed considering the needs of our residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia .
On entering the Oak unit there is a large sitting/dining room with nurse’s station. There is a dresser, cooking range and rummage boxes. There is a kitchenette and an aquarium for the residents and this is where a lot of the activities are carried out.
There is a multisensory room which provides an environment that will benefit our Residents with a wide range of new and pleasurable sensory experiences. The aim of the Sensory room is to enhance the quality of life for our Residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
There is a second large day room/dining room which is surrounded by large windows boasting plenty of natural light. This room leads out to a large beautiful secure garden which has a green house, old style post box, large mature trees and an orchard. It has seating around the garden for the residents to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This is wheelchair accessible garden. The residents and their families have full access to all areas of the centre.
