Activities & Outings
All residents undergo an individual assessment to plan your activity likes and dislikes and interests. This is carried out by your key nurse and a member of the activities staff and is incorporated into your care plan.
In order to enhance the care provided and enable you to fulfil your personal, social and psychological needs the following services and activities are available within TLC Centre at Citywest.
Scheduled activities will be planned and these will be communicated to you by displaying a schedule in prominent places throughout the centre, along with our regular newsletter and our activities team will be able to discuss them with you.
Various activities will be provided and we welcome any suggestions about activities that you might like but are not addressed.
We run a range of activities every day at the TLC Centre Citywest including:
- Sensory stimulation
- Music therapy
- Ball games
- Reminiscence therapy
- Board games
Regular Off-site Activities
Outings are organised for you regularly to places such as Croke Park, the Theatre, shopping centres etc.
There are beautiful garden areas with garden furniture where barbecues are held during the summer months.
Live bands and musicians and Grand Canal Theatre are booked on a regular basis to provide resident involved entertainment.
Regular On-site Activities
Residents are given the opportunity to get involved in gardening activities including caring for plants and flowers, and growing herbs and vegetables.
Football matches are shown on the large screen in the sitting room near the foyer. Wii sport is also available to you to promote fun and assist in limb strengthening. Live music is organised weekly.
A weekly movie club is available for residents to attend. Classic, age appropriate movies are shown; however all requests are accommodated. Pet therapy attends every Saturday morning throughout the year.
Art classes are held Wednesdays and Fridays for all those that wish to attend. We encourage residents to remain active in the community and facilitate trips out to the local shopping centres, social events, community services and local restaurants or pubs, depending on the residents assessed needs and wishes.
‘Fine Dining’ is held on the second Friday of every month. When the weather is good the residents visit the Zoo the Japanese Gardens and families come too. Pottery classes are organised every Thursday and all of you are welcome to attend.
